Memorial Day in MN

I've been terribly delinquent about blog posts lately. Sorry! It's been a whirlwind both personally and professionally, so it' s been hard to even find time to get the camera out.
We were in Minneapolis for Memorial Day weekend. It was a fun-filled couple of days, but with all of the running around, I never reached for the camera. Thank goodness Art and Angie are more on top of things. It gives me an opportunity to steal great photos from their blog (thank you!!)

I promise to get with the program and post more often. We have lots planned in June, so there should be no lack of new news to report.

Pancakes!

There are many, many things I love about my mom, and her pancakes are right near the top of the list. Not kidding. They are the absolute best, and considering how many I ate as a kid, I should weigh about 2,000 pounds. When I was pregnant with Sam I made pancakes almost every weekend and I actually came close to turning out some that rivaled my mom’s. I figured it was good practice for becoming a mom myself and let’s face it, if you can’t drink beer, you may as well indulge in pancakes.

About a month or two ago I cooked up some pancakes for myself and Sam. Sam had become a pretty accomplished eater, so I figured it was high time to introduce him to what was sure to become his favorite meal. It went over like a ton of bricks. He took one bite and pushed them away.

I gave it another try this morning. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the worm turned and Sam devoured the pancakes. He couldn’t get enough. He actually started grabbing them off of my plate. Ha! A kid after my own heart.

So tradition lives on. Thank God. I’m looking forward to serving (and eating!) pancakes every weekend for the next 18 years.

Hope all the mommies out there had a great day.

These are just two cute photos that we took in the yard (our new living room).
